Bingo and Oklahoma: 2 Peas in a Pod
by Ean on Sep.25, 2021, under Bingo
Oklahoma has for a long time been analogous with Bingo. That’s owing to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for years. Clients from every one of the surrounding states load up in autos and travel to Oklahoma to play Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. Since that instance, 23 of the 39 Amerindian tribes located in Oklahoma have opened bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today operate 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were built on. Electronic games such as slot machines weren’t authorized, on the grounds that they are thought to lead to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules have changed to permit big Indian gambling gambling halls. You will now see Amerindian casinos with slot machines, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the Native gambling dens yet, although this is only a waiting game. Nobody can say whether having other games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
